Linen customization options

    Hello,

    We just purchased the ‘Linen’ theme partly on the basis that the product description states:

    Linen is a clean and flexible magazine style theme with some exciting personalization and customization options. Features include: custom typography (fonts), custom background image or colors, featured post slider, and built in featured images.

    However, on loading the theme we find that the customization and font features require additional annual payments for these features to be enabled.

    Other theme descriptions make it very clear that these are optional features, but the Linen description does not do so: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/linen/

    We are now considering using the refund feature as this theme does not do what we first thought it would out-of-the-box.

    Hi Larry!

    Sorry for the confusion!

    Since Linen is an older theme in our collection, the options are not in the Customizer. Instead, you can find all of the advertised options in Appearance > Theme Options. WordPress.com offers an additional set of customization options for all theme that can be purchased via the Custom Design upgrade. These are different than the advertised options that are available in the theme.

    Am I right in assuming that the standard theme options do not include customization for colours?

    Hi Larry!

    You’re correct. Linen does not offer any built-in color options.
