Disabling Comments on Pages
-
I would like to disable and hide comments on my “pages”, such as the home page. But, I would like the comments to be open on the “posts” for the blog.
Please advise on what steps need to be followed to make that occur.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
You have the option to disable comments from within the page in specific. Make sure you have the ‘Discussion’ option selected from your screen options and then uncheck the box to allow comments and this should disable them for that page only. You’ll find more info on doing so here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/.
Make sure you keep your general discussion settings active, otherwise it will turn them off for all other pages.
Thanks,
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
I have gone to ‘Pages’ -> ‘Screen Options’ and unchecked ‘Comments’ on the pages I want to disable comments. However, it still shows ‘Leave a Reply’. How can I get rid of ‘Leave a Reply’?
Best,

Hi Tyler,
I just want to clarify in case I wasn’t clear above, once you select the ‘Screen Options’ this only sets which options you can view on your screen in the editor. You need to make sure the ‘Discussion’ box is checked, and then from within the Discussion field further down on the page editor, you should have a box that says ‘Allow Comments’. You need to make sure that box is unchecked.
Can you confirm this is what you have done?
Thanks,
Rebecca
