Adjust Space between logo and page name, remove page name
-
I have a couple of questions.
peytonmariemarketing.com
1. How can I reduce the space between my logo at the top “Peyton Marie Marketing” and the automatically inserted page name “welcome.”?
2. Can I remove the page name form automatically being inserted on the page? If so, I want to be able to still have the page name be visible in the menu.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I was able to reduce the space between my logo at the top and the “page name” by looking over some of your past responses. Now, my only question is regarding removing the page names – if that is possible.

Hi there Peyton,
Thank you for using the Spatial theme.
2. Can I remove the page name form automatically being inserted on the page?
Yes, please try the following Custom CSS:
body:not(.home) .site-main > .type-page > .entry-header > .entry-title { display: none; }
How can I reduce the space between my logo at the top “Peyton Marie Marketing” and the automatically inserted page name “welcome.”?
Okay, technically the “welcome.” referenced is a page title as well that would normally be hidden by the CSS largely similar to the above.
However, just as a note for you and others viewing this thread, the
body:not(.home)
at the beginning excludes your homepage from the CSS rule and allows the “welcome.” page title to display there, while hiding titles on other pages. If you want to hide the “welcome.” from the homepage as well, then the
body:not(.home)
portion of the CSS selector may be removed.—
Finally, I know you didn’t ask about this so please forgive any unsolicited advice. I wanted to let you know about a theme feature you might find useful.
I noticed your <title> element was rather empty on the homepage, which makes the browser tab of your site look like this (i.e. contains nothing but a “pipe” character like | ).
This may have SEO implications as well. I guess you deleted the site title and description because you didn’t want the site title and description to display in the theme?
If so, that can be hidden in the theme, while also making sure your <title> tag accurately describes your homepage for search engines, browser tabs, etc.
I would recommend amending your site title to include “Peyton Marie Marketing” (or something like that, just taking my best guess from your logo).
Then, go to Appearance->Customize->Site Identity and uncheck the “Display Site Title and Tagline” option to make sure it is hidden in the theme. See this screenshot for an illustration: https://cloudup.com/c9HgGgeyYsB

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with, and thanks again for using the Spatial theme.

Leland
