WordPress ' Creating a Homepage Instructs' on your support page

    Hi !
I purchased the PHOTOGRAPHY theme about a year ago – and I am only now getting to set up my website. I hope that someone can please give me advice on the following…

I am trying to follow WordPress instructions on the support page for this theme in order to set up my home page. I got as far as point number 5 – but couldn’t do 6,7,and 8 because my site didn’t show the correct info under the settings tab …

    Navigate to Settings → Reading.
Choose “A static page” from the “Front page displays” option.
Set the Front page to “Home” and the Posts page to “Blog”.

I have a small slideshow gallery of photos by following – but I am thinking that as I haven’t fully completed the instructions, I may have problems once I start to publish to my blog – as I want blog photos to stay completely separate from my home page – because it will be my business website. Many Thanks -Amanda

Hope you can help ? – Wondering if my PHOTOGRAPHY theme needs updating to a newer version ? – as I got it a long while ago – but cannot see anywhere to upgrade it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello Amanda!

I’m not 100% clear on your question, but if you follow the instructions, you will have a site that works exactly like the demo.

And no need to update your theme! :)

    Sorry Melissa…

When I clicked on ‘settings’ then ‘reading’ as per the theme instructions there was no ‘front page displays’ option – so I could not choose ” a static page”.
I could also see nowhere to set the front page to ‘home’ or the posts page to ‘blog’
I therefore stopped at instruction 5. I am concerned that I couldn’t complete the instructions. Hope that makes more sense..
    Kind Regards

    Hello Amanda,

I see! If you follow the instructions here, you might have better luck. Let me know how it goes!
