Widget 'Show If' function does not work
-
Hi there,
When I add either the ‘Watson Recently Discussed’ Widget or the ‘recent posts’ widget, it shows up on the page properly. However, when I try to filter by category, selecting for instance, Show If, Category is, Casting, the widget disappears from the page. It doesn’t work if I try to filter by tag or author or any of the other options.
I want to show recent posts from different categories in my sidebar, but without the filtering function I can’t. Any way to fix this?

Hi again!
Unfortunately, we haven’t yet made any progress with this bug. While we’d love to get this sorted out for you, I don’t think we’ll have a solution for at least several weeks.
Sorry that’s not the answer you’re hoping for.
Have a wonderful weekend :)

Hi again, @iflist!
After chatting with Corey, our developer, it seems I was mistaken in thinking this was a bug.
However, when I try to filter by category, selecting for instance, Show If, Category is, Casting, the widget disappears from the page.
I too expected WordPress’ Visibility controls to show all Recent Posts that are also in Casting. But, the way the feature really works is to show the Recent Posts widget when on the Casting category page.
So, the Visibility control helps you to display widgets on specific pages, not to display widgets with specific contexts.
I hope this helps :)
