    The ‘upcoming events’ widget is not functioning correctly on my site. I have connected it to icalendar but is is displaying the text oddly.

    The events widget used in the theme demo is called the Soundcheck Events widget. That widget relies on schedule posts in a specific category and takes some setup. Learn more on how to setup Events in Soundcheck.

    Thanks for that but with the new layout I can’t even follow that first set of instructions:

    Go to Appearance > Theme Options > General (section)

    How do I find Appearance now everything has changed in the dashboard?

    OK discovered that if i put /wp-admin after url it opens up a whole load of options not visible through the ‘my sites’ tab

    Great, glad to hear you got it worked out. You should also be able to get to the WP Admin via My Sites > Site > WP Admin (last menu item in sidebar). Unfortunately, some things still need to be accessed via the default WP Admin and not the new WordPress.com interface.
