Widget formatting

    – I have used 3 consecutive pricing table widgets and I would like to justify them to the top. Strangely even with the same text, the width of each pricing table is different and it looks as though they are centred vertically.

    – Is there a way to to change the spacing before and after a widget? Under ‘subscription’ I’ve had to use 3 different widgets: feature list, pricing table and text. But there is too much spacing between elements. How can I fix this?

    – Is there a way to remove the tick in the last row of the pricing table? I want the final row to just show the price, maybe in a bigger font.

    – When a background image is used in the feature list widget, what resolution/size is it?

    – Where can I find the documentation to customise the collective widgets? I purchased the theme through wordpress so can’t seem to gain access here

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Also in the organic profile widget, what is the CSS code to change the size of the image (portrait)?

    Thanks

    Hi Paul,

    I’m afraid the customizations to Organic Custom Widgets you have requested go beyond what we are capable of resolving through customer support. A good resource I would recommend would be CSS Tricks, or you could reach out to a customization service, such as Codeable, to help with these customizations to the widgets (or theme).

    If the widgets are malfunctioning, that is a different story, but since I can’t see where the widgets have been added to your site, I don’t know if that is the case. If you’d like me to verify, please provide a link to the page where I can see the widgets in question, or tell me where I can find them on your site.

    You asked: “When a background image is used in the feature list widget, what resolution/size is it?” A good, standard image size to use throughout your website might be 1800w x 1200h. Try that and adjust if needed.

    Here is a link to documentation/tutorials for Organic Custom Widgets.

    I’m glad to answer any future questions you have on how to use the theme or widgets, but again, unfortunately I’m not able to provide you with those customizations since they go beyond the realm of our support. Let me know if I can assist with anything further.

    Hi Emily

    The link you shared is only basic tutorials. It’s not really extensive documentation. If you don’t share the full documentation how do you expect people to customise it without the use of the forum? Is asking about justification really beyond the scope of the forum? I would think it is a basic function which should be included in the widget without the need for custom scripting and hence is a valid question.

    The tutorial link I shared is the extent of what we have at the moment in regards to documentation for the free Organic Custom Widgets. In addition to that, we offer support on using and setting up the widgets with our themes, which I am happy to provide.

    No, asking about justification isn’t necessarily beyond the scope of the forum, but customizations usually are. In regards to the justification of the pricing table widget: can you please provide a link to the exact page where I can view the issue in question (or a screenshot)? I do not see it on your site. When I am able to see the issue you are referring to, I would be glad to provide you with a solution where possible. Thank you :)

    Hi Emily

    Thanks for your response. Here are the pages I am having trouble with in terms of top justification for the pricing table:

    Subscription support
    https://parametricmonkey.com/services/

    and workshops
    https://parametricmonkey.com/services/workshops/

    Also, I’ve noticed that sometime when I apply an image to the hero widget, the text isn’t superimposed but below. It works on some pages but not others for some reason.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the links, Paul. You can apply this CSS to justify the columns to the top:

    .organic-widgets-group-container {
      align-items: flex-start;
    }

    In reference to the issue regarding the Hero Widget text showing below the background image, can you provide an example of this so I can inspect? If you’re adding a Background Image (and not Featured Image), the text should definitely display on top of the image, so I’m not sure why this might be happening without inspecting the code. Thanks.

    Thanks Emily. That was exactly what I needed.

    On another note – I’ve noticed that the general graphics aren’t displaying correctly when viewed in Internet Explorer. Chrome and Safari are fine. But on IE, the overlay text on the hero images are black, and not changing to white. You can see this on the main homepage: http://www.parametricmonkey.com

    Can anything be done about this? Thanks

    Hi Paul,

    Glad that worked. In regards to the IE issue, can you tell me which version of IE this is happening in? Thanks.

    Thank you, Paul. On IE, I notice the following notification pop-up at the bottom of the screen:

    Is this something that was added by a plugin that you are aware of? If so, please try disabling whatever plugin was used to create that pop-up, since it could be causing a conflict. Let me know if this is not the issue, thanks.

    Hi Emily. I can’t see the link you shared. Can you repost via Dropbox or something. Thanks

    I tried a Dropbox link, I guess the WordPress forum is not allowing it. Anyway, there is a “Privacy & Cookies” pop-up at the bottom of the page when viewed in IE. Was it added intentionally, or are you aware of any plugins you may have that would be adding this?

    Yes I added this. It is just the standard WordPress widget so I can’t see why that would be causing the problem. Any other thoughts?

    Here is some CSS that should force the color to appear properly across all browers:

    .organic-widgets-content > .organic-widgets-hero-information p {
       color: #cccccc !important;
    }
    .organic-widgets-content > .organic-widgets-hero-information h1 {
       color: #ffffff !important;
    }

    Hi Emily

    Another issue I’m seeing, is that on this page everything is displaying properly – footer is at bottom.
    https://parametricmonkey.com/services/computational-design/

    But for some reason, on this page, the footer is moved up and there is a margin at the bottom
    https://parametricmonkey.com/services/digital-fabrication/

    Do you know what is causing this?

    Also I find that there seems to be a bug when using the customiser > widget editor. Sometimes when you make a change in one of the fields, the preview doesn’t update and the publish button isn’t able to be activated. I need to click somewhere else to make a change, delete it, and then the publish button can be activated. Other times, the preview seems to be in an infinite loop and the only way to stop is to refresh the page. Only appears to happen when using the organic widgets. Do you know what would be causing this?
