Wide image at top of home page

  How do you get the large, wide image at the top of the home page? I tried the Header, but it’s not that.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi suzalex,

  You can set this up using a standard Page. Create your page, add your text/copy, then add a Featured Image (which will display as your top header image), ours is currently at 1024 × 1024.

  Then within the Appearance –> Customize options, under Theme Options you can set your “Page for intro…” which will then display that page.

  Hi suzalex,

  No problem. No, you’ll simply need to set your Settings –> Reading to “Your latest posts” as well. Check out the two screenshots of our Theme Options Customizer settings to help-out as well:

  Great. Now how do I remove the word Edit from the page, presently showing in the middle of the image?

  The ‘Edit’ button should only display for you, when you are logged into WordPress.com. Is it displaying all of the time, even when you are logged out of your admin panel?

  Hi Travis!

  I’m giving my blog a facelift with your theme and the first thing I’m doing is setting up the large image on the homepage. You recommended 1024 x 1024, but WordPress is telling me to scale it down to 502 x 200.

  The image I’m trying to apply is high resolution, the problem is, even with this smaller resolution it is appearing zoomed in and fuzzy. How can I adjust the image so that it comes out clear?

  Hi flashgowdey,

  Sounds great, thanks for choosing Clear News! Hmm, where is WordPress telling you to scale it down?

  I would still upload an image that is at least 1024×1024 within that large area on the homepage. You may attempt using an image that is larger, and the theme will scale it to fit as well.
