  Is there a way to get rid of these white boxes or even make them transparent? I want my background to be all one color with black borders instead of the shocking white against the pink.

  Hi there,

  Well, as the text color is black so we have designed the boxes in white color.
  If you like, you can chage the color of white boxes to any other color with following CSS. I have used the pink color, so you might want to change it to any other color where the text would be clearly visible and readable.

  .hentry {
      background-color: #f36a9e;
      border: 2px solid #212121;
  }
