I’m trying to figure out this visibility feature in the zuki medium recent post widget. I’d like to use it to display only posts with a specified tag. However, when I set SHOW IF TAG is highlight, for example, then I tag some posts as highlight, nothing shows up. If I change show to hide, everything shows up, including the posts tagged highlight. Do I misunderstand this feature? What is the correct way to use it. Thank you for your assistance.

The blog I need help with is: carmellavender.com

Some additional information, the category slug feature in recent post widget works as described/expected. And I was able to at least for the moment achieve the desired results for my website. It appears it is just the visibility attribute that I either don’t understand or isn’t functioning correctly. My website looks so nice with your design. You have a very good talent for design. Thank you. I do wish there was a bit more documentation. I did watch the video, and that was helpful. But video format is a bit cumbersome when you need to go back and reference specific features. Thanks again for your help and your beautiful theme.

I have a similar issue, I’m not sure how the visibility function works in the medium zuku recent post widget. Different combinations of category slug and ‘show’ on the visibility functions seem to show blank on the screen. When I add a category slug, nothing shows. The main issue with all the Zuki recent post widgets is that it ends up repeating the latest post over and over again. I’d like to limit/filter this through category slug or visibility on the widget but doesn’t seem to work.

Does this widget work with just tags or categories?

i was able to resolve the category slug issue- i didn’t realize the slugs were auto-generated so had to go to categories link to determine correct spelling of a slug. in this case, it was travel-2, i had put ‘travel’ only.
however i still don’t understand the visibility function. i am trying to “hide” all posts containing the category “highlights” so there’s not repeated content. but posts categorized as highlights still show up in the zuki medium widget. it’s very confusing.

Yes, I am in the same situation. The category slugs are functioning, however the visibility attributes never seem to find any posts that match the attribute. I.e. SHOW IF always shows none and HIDE IF never hides anything.

    Hi there,

first, I’m very sorry to reply so late to this issue here in the forum. Regarding the visibility attribute, since the Zuki Recent Posts widgets are custom theme widgets this additional WordPress feature will not work for the Zuki widgets. Unfortunately the only option to filter posts is by category slug.

You can find all category slug names in the list under Posts / Categories.

Please let me know, if you have any further issues with the Recent Posts widgets. In a future update I will try to find a work-around to make the visibility option also available for the Zuki widgets, but I can’t promise that it will work for 100% at the moment.

I hope you still like the Zuki theme.
    Best, Ellen
