Video Aspect Ratio

    Hi,

When I embed a vimeo video on an Isca page, I am using the WordPress recommended embedding code that enables specification of video window size:

    [vimeo 44633289 w=500&h=280]

However, the video appears in a square format with black bars at the top and bottom of the window. How can I fix that, so that all I see is the embedded video?

The page I am experiencing the problem on is:

    http://snakes-sunrises-and-shakespeare.com/motivation-for-writing-book-2/

    Thank you,
    Alan

The blog I need help with is snakes-sunrises-and-shakespeare.com.

Hi – could you post the actual code you’re using please? The one you posted above is from the docs.

I’d like to try to reproduce the error so I can tackle it.

    Sorry, here it is:

    [vimeo 81341346 w=1280&h=720]

ok – so the problem is that the video you are embedding is wider than the page. Which means the video is being constrained to the page width – however the height you set isn’t changing and so the borders are appearing.

The width of the page is 946 – so if you change the embed sizes then it should work better.

Just done a quick test and this seems to work:
    [vimeo 81341346 w=946&h=532]

Thank you, binarymoon. It works perfectly. Problem solved.
