Hi There. We love this theme and have just a few questions.

    1. How can we get our sidebars to display on our homepage? They have been moving to the middle or bottom. Also, on some pages they seem to disappear.

    2. For the Veggie theme, we are missing the Veggie Featured Content Widget (for the 1st Block). How can we access this?

    3. Under the Widget section in Appearances, we are missing the 4th Block. How can we access that?

The blog I need help with is platein28.com.

    Hi,

thank you for using our theme.

Please check the setup page for this theme here: https://wordpress.com/theme/veggie/setup. Here you’ll find everything about setting up the theme as we have in the demo.

The featured content area is in relation with the front page, that means you’ll need to set up your front page as a static page. By default, the front page displays your latest posts on a new site. If you don’t want to use blog posts for your homepage you can set up a static front page following this step-by-step guide. Once you’ve created your static homepage, assign the Front Page template to it.

Sidebar on the front page appears if you add the widgets inside the Second Widget block, sidebar appears on the right.

If you are using grid page template or Full Width, No Sidebar template for some pages, this pages don’t have sidebar as this template doesn’t contain sidebar.

Please read more about the setup here, everything is described step by step: https://wordpress.com/theme/veggie/setup

Let me know if this helps and if you still need help with.

    All the best,
    Ana

    Hi Ana

Thanks for your response! We followed the guidelines and I made sure our homepage is set to static and the front page template. I added “veggie promo” and “veggie recent posts” widgets to the second block, yet the sidebars are still appearing at the bottom of the page. Any advice?

    Thanks!

    Hi Ana

Thanks for your help. I just made the site public so you should be able to see what we mean. The sidebars are appearing at the bottom of our home page (“Welcome”) but we would like them to appear on the side of the page. Please advise. Thanks so much

    Hi Marcie,

unfortunately I am still not be able to see it, we don’t offer support during the weekend. If you don’t want to make it public please make the screenshot and explain the step by step problem you have and which template and on what page u have this problem. It is very hard for me to help with if I don’t see the issue (best real website).

    Thanks,

Hi there. We just disabled the ‘Coming Soon’ mode. So, you should be able to get into the site now to investigate.

    Thank you!

Hello! I am trying to setup my veggie theme blog, but I have trouble with the widget part, they only show the foot and lateral bars, but not the first, second and 3rd section. How can I fix it? thanks

    Hi Marcie & Julie,

oki now I can see what is going on and the problem is, you have a plugin Genesis columns that is doing this to the theme and changing theme column look. I checked it on our theme demo and we don’t have any problems like u do and after some research on your website I noticed u are doing some customization and using Genesis columns. Unfortunately I can’t help you with the customization of the third part plugin. What I can advice is to deactivate or remove the Custom CSS to see if the problem will be resolved.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best,
    Ana

    Hi theprojectinbetween,

thanks for using our theme and please open the separate ticket from your account in the future.

By default, the front page displays your latest posts on a new site. If you don’t want to use blog posts for your homepage you can set up a static front page following this step-by-step guide. Once you’ve created your static homepage, assign it the Front Page template. This step is very important for the widgetized blocks.

The widget panel will only show widgets that are applicable to a particular page, so if you don’t see the front page widget areas, try clicking on the site’s header image in the display area of the Customizer. This will return the Customizer to the home/front page and the front page widget areas should appear.

Here is more info about the widgets: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/ and Customizer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/

    Hope this helps.

    All the best,
    Ana
