Using the More "quick tag" on the Home Page
-
The “more” quick tag is not working on the “featured static page” of the home page.
Take a look, my “test” of the more tag is easy to see on the homepage. How do I make this work?
I want it to work like the demo on the Organics site: http://organicthemes.com/demo/profile/
I realize that there are some differences between the Organics version and the WordPress.com version. Is this one of them?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
For reference, you should be looking at the WPcom demo of the Profile Theme (http://profiledemo.wordpress.com/), not the WPorg demo.
But that said, you should be able to use the <!– more –> tag. Possibly the reason is that you’re using a static page that isn’t use the ‘Home’ page template.
Thanks!

The http://profiledemo.wordpress.com/ demo does not show a “More” tag on the homepage, which is why I referenced the demo on the Organics site. which does show the “more” button. :-)
Glad to hear that it should work. Maybe you can help me figure out why it isn’t. I have created a private page on my site with two screen grabs of the settings from the dashboard.
Here’s the link:
http://txcowboydancer.com/settings-screen-grabs/The first shows the page loaded into the editor and you can see that the Page Template is “Home Page” and you can see the “test verbage” and the “more tag indicator” in the middle of the verbage.
The second shows that I’ve set the page as the “front” page under Appearance >> Customize >> Front
Hope the screen shots help you trouble shoot.
Cheers!

Thanks — I’ll need to discus this with our other developers, and will follow up with you.
