This refers to a site I want to construct: LoarraineRyanArtGallery.com. I paid $300 for GeneratePress theme. I’m nowhere. I need the tutorial that will guide me in putting together this site with a fading header containing 6 paintings that come and go. Please tell me what tutorial to use. I don’t even know what a widget is.

The blog I need help with is martinjryansamerica.com.

    Hello @landmart!

GeneratePress is a third-party theme, which means it’s developed by someone else.

I’ve found some general documentation for the theme here: https://docs.generatepress.com/

I did a little digging to figure out the best way to set up a slideshow like you described. While I couldn’t find anything in their documentation, I did find a similar question in their support forums that they’ve answered:

    https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/header-slider/

GeneratePress does not have a built in slideshow, so they suggest installing a slideshow plugin (they recommend Smart Slider 3 in the thread, https://wordpress.com/plugins/smart-slider-3/). The thread next details some steps for setting up that slideshow in the theme.

It doesn’t go into the same amount of detail as a tutorial would, but hopefully will point you in the right direction.

This support forum is for a theme called Bold News; if you have any further questions, please contact us here.

We’re happy to help with third party plugins and themes as much as we can, but in some cases, the folks who develop those products are the ones best suited to assist. GeneratePress has a support forum here: https://generatepress.com/support/.

Lastly, your Business plan also comes with Concierge Support. This is a one-on-one session you can book with one of our Happiness Engineers. There’s some more information about that here. It can be a big help when you’re starting out, as they can help walk through the different features and tools on WordPress.com.
