Trouble with tag
I have custom CSS enabled on my blog.
I’m having an issue with WordPress inserting a line break ( ) in the <h1 class=”title with-author”> tag.
Our blog feeds onto the company home page, here: http://www.wsba.org/ Some post titles are coming in with a line break that makes them look wonky.
I am not inserting the line break. I’ve tried stripping out formatting in Notepad and keying it in. I’ve also tried trashing the post altogether an redoing it, always keying in the title. I can’t correct the issue.
I use the same methods to create each post. I’ve only encountered this issue in the last few weeks, and only on certain posts. For example, it’s happening here: http://nwsidebar.wsba.org/2013/03/26/trial-advocacy-tips/, but not here: http://nwsidebar.wsba.org/2013/03/25/wsba-awards-sackmann/
The same problem is also happening with a custom field: <div class=”wsbahometext”>
Is there a solution or work around for this? It’s very frustrating…
The blog I need help with is: nwsidebar.wsba.org
Yes…this definitely sounds really frustrating!
When looking at your example URLs, I do not see the issue; however, I have a hunch from your description about what could be happening. WordPress.com applies the Widon’t technique to all titles on all sites. Widon’t adds a non-breaking space (nbsp) between the last and next to last word in a title. This is added to avoid “widowed” words where a word is the only word on a line.
I have a feeling that this might be causing your issues. When you digest the feed, you would need to filter out the non-breaking space before displaying the content.
