I am simply trying to figure out how to create a gallery exactly the same as the one on the demo for the obsidian theme for sale on wordpress.com. i read every support forum i could find and as far as i got was downloading “jetpack” which also did not work because that is for when you purchase the theme directly from the creator. in addition, i upgraded to the premium even though the demo showed it was capable thinking that would assist in this simple task that is proving to be much more complex than imagined. I don’t want anything special, simply to know how to create the thumbnail photos that when clicked bring you to the carousel of all the images just like the demo for sale.

i would be so grateful if someone could please assist me with this.

    thank you,

WordPress.com does not allow third party plugins to be installed. That said, the Jetpack plugin was created to help bring some WP.com functionality, like tiled galleries, to self-hosted WordPress sites. Creating tiled galleries on WP.com is available by default.

WP.com has more information on how create image galleries here:

The documentation mentions you’ll be able to change the photo gallery display when creating the gallery. I tend to want to display galleries in the tiled gallery by default. As noted in the documentation link above, to switch to tiled layouts from the default, head over to Settings → Media in your sites dashboard, scroll down to “Image Gallery Carousel,” and select the box next to “Display all your gallery pictures in a cool mosaic.”
