Theme display issues
Two issues have appeared this week on my blog. I haven’t touched any of the theme’s settings for weeks. The issues are:
1. Extra white space between the bottom of posts and the Share This bar.
2. The Like This bar and Posted In line are overlapping.
You can see this on http://vegcoast.com/ as well as individual posts.
Can this be fixed?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)vailoboxTheme Author
We have released some updates for Gigawatt which may have adjusted the look or functionality. We can’t predict how it will affect individual blogs as sharing configurations vary :)
We will make some adjustments to the CSS later today which should improve the look for how you have it setup. I do recommend enabling “icons” in the sharing settings instead to get the buttons to sit comfortably on one line.
Thanks for the quick reply. I look forward to seeing the CSS changes.
Another issue that pops up occasionally is the site title and tag line colour reverts to the general link colour when you developers tweak the theme. The right colours still show up on the mobile site (WP’s default mobile theme), however.
The site title and tag line colour seems to have reverted on its own, which is great.
However, the Like This and Posted In lines are still overlapping and the extra white space at the bottom of posts is still there.
As well, the Latest Posts widget title is now in italics, for some reason.
Anything you can do to help with the overlap would be appreciated. I’d really like to continue using this theme. Thank you.
Just noticed: the issues I’m having (extra whitespace, Like This/Posted In overlap) are affecting other Gigawatt blogs that use WordPress Likes:vailoboxTheme Author
As I previously mentioned, there is an issue with how the like buttons are positioned that conflicts with embedded videos. If you turn off the facepile or enable icons without titles for your share row so it isn’t breaking into two lines, it looks OK. We are trying to fix it with all options enabled from the theme side, but may need .com to make some adjustments also. We will be updating the theme again tomorrow and hopefully that will be all it takes.
I’ve temporarily set the share buttons to one row of icons (I’d rather not do this permanently as the official buttons have more visibility and functionality), but the display issues haven’t gone away. Admittedly, I’m not sure how to turn off the Gravatars for the WordPress Likes as a temporary fix without disabling Likes for posts all together, which I don’t want to do.
The same issues are in the theme demo too: http://gigawattdemo.wordpress.com/2012/08/29/ben-loncle-soul-soulman/
Thanks for continuing to look into this!
Thanks very much for fixing these issues.
