I’m trying to create a page (other than front page) with text and then post excerpts below using shortcode – https://en.support.wordpress.com/display-posts-shortcode/

However, per the wordpress rep, the theme doesn’t support the shortcode. Any way to support it. Or, is there another way to create a page with text and blog posts (for one category). fyi – i know how to create a category page, (which shows posts) but I don’t know how to add text above the posts.

The blog I need help with is: livelovetampa.com

    Hello,

As the website is hosted on wordpress.com, the shortcode works (it’s created by wordpress.com and is available for all themes). So, please just try it.

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately, we did try it and it didn’t work. I posted it in the post and instead of showing up as the post excerpts… it showed up as the written code.

I asked WordPress Support. They told me that the theme doesn’t support the shortcode?

The shortcode is provided by wordpress.com (it’s not included in the theme), so it’s available here. I think the problem is that you’re using the Business plan that you use the theme and plugins outside of wordpress.com, thus loosing the shortcodes that provided by the platform.

I’ll tag WP.com staff on this topic and hopefully, they can confirm that.

By the way, as you can install plugins, you can install this plugin and have the same result:
