    Hi,

I really loved the font in the tester theme. It’s one of the reasons that made me purchase the theme.

    For instance, in this post…
    https://hunttdemo.wordpress.com/2015/04/27/m3-may-math-month/
The writing is narrow, minimal and simply gorgeous!

When I purchased the theme; however, this is how my post ended up looking:
    https://stormingteacup.wordpress.com/2016/10/10/new-beginnings/
The font is thicker and bulkier :(

Also, in the tester page of this theme, at the beginning of each post, there is a beautiful shadow drop of the first letter. I had the impression that it was going to do that to my posts but I’m not sure how to add that effect. I tried a quote block, but that was useless.

Any idea how to fix the font and add that effect?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is stormingteacup.wordpress.com.

    Hello,

Here are the answers on your questions:
    1. Q: I really loved the font in the tester theme. It’s one of the reasons that made me purchase the theme.

A: In our demo, post paragraph font is Roboto, while on your site is used Arimo.
If you have the WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business you have access to custom fonts where you can change fonts over the site.

I’m guessing that this is the issue.

    2. Q: Also, in the tester page of this theme, at the beginning of each post, there is a beautiful shadow drop of the first letter. I had the impression that it was going to do that to my posts but I’m not sure how to add that effect. I tried a quote block, but that was useless.
A: Drop caps allow you to stylize the first letter in a post or page. Simply wrap the first letter in a span with “dropcap” class.
    <span class="dropcap">D</span>rop cap examples.

    Thank you,

    Hello Djordje,

I tried the TypeKit pack without paying and the font Roboto is only available for the Headers (which is already selected by default as my blog’s header font). Roboto as a font is not available as the base font for posts – even in the TypeKit ?

Please bare with me for not being tech-savvy but what do you mean by the second answer? There’s a feature to ‘wrap’ the first letter or is this something I need to type into the HTML text block?

    Hello,

If you need to create dropcap, switch your editor to text mode, and insert code as in my example – instead of letter D enter desired letter or word.

    Example:
    <span class="dropcap">T</span>his is another example.

<span class="dropcap">WORKS</span> with whole words as well.

    Thank you,
    – Djordje

I’m having the same problem, but I can’t even get roboto.
And suddenly when I upgraded to premium, the options to make fonts italic, etc. disappeared. Is there another place int he interface to find fonts?

djordiegrubac, thank you! I will try that tonight.

eveslistbiz, I am disappointed at these little issues having thought I finally found the theme I wanted.

I just checked for you, Roboto should be available without additional payment only in the ‘headings’ list. It’s not available in the base font (meaning cannot be used as text font).

I don’t know why the options to alter font (italic…etc) disappeared but even if you upgrade to premium, the font ROBOTO is not listed as part of the options. I’m guessing the designer of this theme simply added it to the script, which if that’s the case then it’s kinda misleading since it was one of the main factors I purchased this theme :/

    Sorry I couldn’t help more.
