Text widget not displaying in footer

Just bought your theme React which looks great. Trying to swap out the widgets in the footer. I’ve created a few simple text based widgets, nothing smarter than text. Clicking save seems to have no affect and reloading the Widgets section makes the text widgets disappear.

Any ideas?

Just seems to be the Text widget too as I’ve been able to add other types of widget

Hey Pascal,

Just to be clear about what is going on:

When you are on the Appearance → Widgets page, you’re unable to stick any Text Widgets in the footer, at all?

Thanks for the additional info – hopefully we can sort it out!

That’s exactly right Andy. They ‘stick’, allow me to enter text etc and even save. But refresh that page and they all disappear. Every other widget I tried worked though, so only the text option

I’m not sure why this is happening. Do you have a link o you website, so we can take a look?

To clarify, when you “refresh that page”, are you referring to your Appearance → Widgets page?

Hi Scott, the link is http://blog.raffle.it and yes refreshing the Appearance/Widgets page.

I added a text widget to a footer on another wordpress blog just to make sure it wasn’t something I was doing and that one worked fine.

Very confusing!

Hey there,

I’m going to forward this on to the WordPress.com staff, since I can’t replicate it and I don’t think it’s a theme issue. They should be here to respond before too long :).

Hi pasalot,

It was a strange issue but now you can add and remove the text widget as it should be. I added it to Footer 1 for you :)
