Static front page More Info text

    Hello

    1.
I would like my front page to be static, but is seems as if it will always show the thumbnail as the latest blog post? How can I make it stay, so it always looks the same (I don’t want my blog to change appearance every day).

    2. Since it is not possible to get a top menu on the front page (right?) I would like push pin to say something other than ‘more info’. How can I change this text? As of now my readers can’t seem to find the menu bar anywhere, which is really a shame.

The blog I need help with is fromscratchtosnatch.com.

    Hi Trine,

    1. In general Kiore Moana is designed to be mostly a blog theme with the latest posts on the front page. But of course you can also create a new page and set this page as your websites front page. You would just need to select the new page you created under Appearance / Customize / Front.

You can also create an empty, new page called “Blog” or News” and select this to be your blog page. This way you can link to your blog in your website menu.

    2. Yes, in the Kiore Moana theme the design approach for menus is very minimal and you can only show the menu on the Kiore Moana Info page and in the footer. But unfortunately it is not possible to change the text for the info page button.

I hope my answers are helpful to you.

    Hi Ellen

Thanks a lot – I’ll see what I can do.

Now that I have you, can you tell me why I have so much white space around my ‘read more’ buttons? It’s not on all of them, so I must be doing something wrong…

    Hi Trine,

yes, I see that, too. Could you check, if you have any empty spaces or line breaks before or after the more-link in your posts with the for example:

    Hi Ellen

I don’t have any empty spaces or line breaks, that’s what so weird about it.

    Hi Trine,

I think I found the problem, there is an CSS class with the name “page” inside the post, so the format for pages accidentally applies. Did you add any additional CSS into some posts or did you include special content e.g. in this post: http://fromscratchtosnatch.com/2014/09/11/purple-haze/ ?

    Hi Ellen,

No – not that I know of? Can I just remove this “page”?

Could you check in the HTML editor of the post I linked to, if you can find any code looking like this:

    class="page"

If so, could you try to remove it (only the part I marked above) and see, if this is solving the issue?

    Thanks so much!
