    All of sudden the social media links now have two boxes side by side. I’ve tried to go into settings to see if I can fix anything and I’m lost. I really don’t want to have to redo an entire website over social media links, but it looks horrible and doesn’t function.

    The blog I need help with is: thegameofnerds.com

    Hi,

    I apologize for the inconvenience. We’ve released a new version of the theme with a lot of fixes regarding the block editor, performance and accessibility.

    It looks like Jetpack (WordPress.com) has made changes to the Social Icons recently. Please add this custom CSS to your site while I investigate the issue:

    .jetpack-social-navigation-genericons a::before {
      display: none;
    }

    .site .jetpack-social-navigation ul {
      display: flex;
      margin: 0;
    }

    Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Kind regards,
    Taras

    You are very welcome!

    “… gotta love these WP updates with no warning …”
    – By default, WordPress.com does not provide any update notices for the themes from WordPress.com collection.

    This problem regarding the social menu is my fault. I am sorry about it. It seems like Jetpack (which is a part of WordPress.com) loads a bundled CSS for its modules for Business plan sites. I’ve not seen this issue on free and premium plans at WordPress.com. Also, I’ve not seen this issue on my local machine. It seems like it’s an “edge case” issue which I have missed :(

    I’ve already submitted a fix to WordPress.com servers, so I hope it will be available for Business plan sites soon. This fix will also include an alignment improvement in the social menu section.

    If you’ll notice any other issue(s) on your site after the update, please let me know. I will be happy to help!

    Kind regards,
    Taras
