    I am revamping my school library website and love the clean look of Tortuga. Thank you! I wanted the header to be above the menu bar, but see from another response in this forum that it isn’t possible. I took your suggestion of placing my desired header image as a background behind the site title. Now it is difficult to read the site title, so I’d like to change the text color or add a transparent box behind my site title text. I am not having any luck with either. Another option I tried was adding my site title to the background image before uploading it, but this didn’t work because if I deselect “Display Site Title” in the Site Identity area that area becomes too narrow for my background image. And if I select “Display Site Title” there is duplicate text – from within WordPress and from my image. If you have any suggestions it would be most welcome. Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is: westromiglibrary.org

    Hi there,

    Thanks for using Tortuga.

    You can use this custom CSS snippet to add a transparent background to the site title section.

    .site-title {
        background: rgba(0,0,0,0.5);
        padding: 0 15px;
    }

    You can copy the CSS code and insert it on Customize > CSS.

    To change the text color, you can use this code:

    .site-title,
    .site-title a:link,
    .site-title a:visited {
        color: #20a0cf;
    }

    Best,
    Thomas

    Thank you – I think changing the title color looks better than the transparent so I’ll go with that. I appreciate your quick response and help!
