short code or code for putting a featured post on front page with image

    Hi there, I love this layout! Is there a code that I can use to be able to feature my most recent post (or post of my choice) on my front page (after my welcome) using the post’s featured image and a short blurb with link to “read more”? I currently am using a short code (I’m not too tech savvy lol) to list my ten most recent posts with thumbnail but I’d like a “featured post” kind of option that uses a larger image than a thumbnail along with a small section of the post. Many thanks in advance!
