Hello,
I have a problem with the search button in the theme header. If I search for something from the homepage everything works fine. But if I am on a blog post page and try a search from there, it comes up with a 404 Page not found error. The regular search widget still works, so I’ve disabled the search box in the theme header. But is this a common problem, can it be resolved?

Hey there,
Thank you for your question. I’d like to help.
This isn’t a known issue but hope to further investigate a few things.
Can you enable the search box in your theme header again and show me an example string you are using so I can further debug a few things and try to replicate the issue.
Thanks!
Hi Scott
Thanks for the kind offer! I have enabled the header search again.
If I type in a search from the main page, e.g. “peer” it works:
http://allthatmatters.heber.org/?s=peer&x=-1084&y=-62
If I go into any of my posts and type the same search into the header box, the URL is different:
http://allthatmatters.heber.org/2013/06/09/atomic-identity-checks/?s=peer&x=-1084&y=-62
It seems to me that the search doesn’t break out of the directory structure? Is that because I have a custom domain name? Anyway, I hope this helps.
cheers
Joerg
Hey Joerg,
Strange, I’m unable to replicate this:
Searching ‘peer’ here:
http://allthatmatters.heber.org/
and here:
http://allthatmatters.heber.org/2013/06/10/double-blind-peer-review-at-nature-geoscience/
Both bring up the same results.
Can you try clearing your browser cache and trying again?
Thanks again!
Kind Regards,
Scott
