Removing Sidebar from Blog Page
My blog page was set up at the time my front page was set up as per the instruction video.
My blog page currently has a sidebar. I want to remove the sidebar, but there is no template option on the editor to allow me to change it to the “default template”. (This option exists for my “About” page, accessed through the same editor).
Have I missed something?
Thanks for any help.
The blog I need help with is: kelpscotland.com
The blog must use the default/posts page, so unfortunately there is no way to remove the sidebar by switching templates. If you have a Business Plan or the Custom Design upgrade, you could hide it via some custom CSS.
If you want to go that route, let me know and I’ll help you with the code!
Okay, thanks for clarifying this and the offer of help. Would this make my blog photos 860 wide? Unfortunately nowadays, CCS only seems available as part of an annual $99 Premium package. I’ll give it some thought though.
For your information, my reason for seeking to remove it was to make the photos 860 (rather than 550) Also, to my eye, the widget content is a bit too close to the posts. Switching off widgets for all pages would solve the second issue.
It would make the posts appear similar to full-width pages, yes. Let us know if you upgrade and we can give you a hand with that.
I have removed all content from my sidebar and suddenly the sidebar on my blog page vanished, leaving me with 860 photographs. My only lament is that in doing so, I have lost my subscribe by email option. I’m happy.
Thanks for your help.
