Remove headline and space above image

    Hi!

    I’ve two questions. I would like to remove the headline on several pages. I used the following code and it works fine.

    .headline {
    display: none;
    }

    However, when using this code it even removes the headlines on the blog posts. Those I would like to keep. Is it possible to remove headline on some pages and not on others? If so, how can i do that?

    I also wonder how I can remove the space above the headline. For example here: https://martinalennartsson.wordpress.com/meny/
    Here I would like it to be no space between the image and the white menu bar.

    Thank you!

    The blog I need help with is martinalennartsson.wordpress.com.

    Hello,

    You can add the following CSS to hide the headline on pages only:

    .page .headline {
        display: none;
    }

    Try the following to decrease space above the headline:

    .page h1 {
      margin-top: -50px;
    }

    I hope that helps!

    Thank you Emily!

    Hiding “the headline on pages only” worked perfect.

    I didn’t get the result I was looking for with the other code. There’s still space between image and the menu bar: https://martinalennartsson.wordpress.com/meny/
    Is it possible to remove that too?

    Thanks again.

    Sure, try adding this:

    #page-6375 .postarea {
        padding-top: 0;
    }

    I hope that helps!

    I also would like to know how I can reduce or even hide the space above the header image. It would be even better to implement the header menu into the header image, so that there is no need anymore to reduce or hide that space. As it is in displayed in the demo.

    @axoimarketing please provide a link to your site. The CSS given to the previous user was to remove excess space leftover after removing a page title, so it’s not related to the header. You should be seeing the header menu exist within the header image, as seen in the demo, so please provide a link to your site for referrence..

    Thanks,

    Emily

    Hi Emily!

    Thank you for you reply!

    It’s http://axoi-marketing.com

    I would like to know both, how to remove excess space leftover after removing … and also to have the header image as seen in the demo.

    Best,
    Niyazi

    @emilysuesrq Do I have to tag you each time I post something? Sorry, I’m a rookie :)

    Hi Niyazi, no you don’t have to tag me each time – I check in regularly :)

    First of all, it looks like you’ve created your homepage with blocks, as opposed to the standard theme setup as explained in the following theme setup guide (click the “Setup” tab on the following page): https://wordpress.com/theme/purpose/setup

    To allow your site to display the header and menu to look like the demo, you’d need to setup your homepage as explained in the link above – this is how the demo has been setup. This means adding a Featured Image to the page/post, instead of a cover block like you have now.

    Let me know if you have any other questions and I’ll be glad to help. Thanks!

    Kind Regards,

    Emily

    I can’t get it to work. -.-

    At least I’d like to remove the space between the menu line and the first image on each site. I can put up with that for now.

    The second code you recommended to martinalennartsson doesn’t work for me.

    Did you follow all of the instructions in the setup guide? For your site to display like the demo, you’ll need to setup your homepage according to those instructions.

    However, if you want to leave your homepage as it is but just remove the space under the header – try adding this:

    .postarea.full {
        padding-top: 0px;
    }
