Read more… text
I was wondering if there was a place I could change the “Read more..” button/text. Our website is in French only so we would like to have it say something in French (duh!).
Could you help us with that issue?
The blog I need help with is: lazonetonique.com
This not a theme specific issue.
You can add a “Read More” break in French following some steps given in the support document here at https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/view-all/
It is theme specific, in this case.
The “Read more..” is a theme generated button, not plain text. I have added <!–more But wait, there’s more!–> copied and pasted from the support page you gave me on my “Douleurs musculaires… de l’incompréhension à l’action” post and it just cuts the text where I inserted the code but does not show the “But wait, there’s more!”.
Thanks for the link though.
Thank you for writing and usng Christopher.
This is a matter about translation:
Each theme has a GlotPress project to handle theme translations. This is the Christopher’s translations:
Theme strings in a given language are auto-deployed when the translation reaches 85% completion (French has 75%). Anyone can help by suggesting new translations.
Once we’ve done that, tag the thread with wpcomstaff and we’ll get a GlotPress validator in their language to have a look and get the language deployed.
If you feel like contributing then you are welcome to translate as many elements of the site as you like! It would be fantastic that you help with French (france or Canada) translations :)
You can contribute to the translations here: https://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/themes/christopher

Thank you again! Merci beaucoup!

My contributor, eduardoyutaka, has made 18 of the 24 missing translations.
Can you get them validated please?
Wow, that’s fantastic! Thank you a lot.
Let’s go to add a WordPress staff member to the conversation in order to accept the translations.

Thank you for adding those translations!
It looks like they were added to the French (Canada) translation, and not the French (France) variation:
Your blog is set to French (France) so I can get those translations validated, but they won’t show up on your site unless you switch the language selction. Could you please confirm that you want the French (Canada) variation? If not, could you please ask your contributor to make the additions to the French (France) translation here:
It should be set to French (Canada). Could you modify that? Or do I need to do it? If so, where can I make that adjustment?
lazonetonique – you can make the language change in your general settings:
I’ve asked for the new strings to be validated.
The translations have already been validated and should go live within 24 hours. If you don’t see them on your site by tomorrow (after having changed your language selection) please let me know.
I have changed the language settings, I’ll keep an eye out tomorrow!
Have a nice day!
Hi lazonetonique and Kathryn,
It seems translations are showing correctly in lazonetonique’s site.
Let us know if is ok to mark the topic as solved :)
Thank you again both!
