    Hi There,

My site is currently in maintenance mode so it is not accessible, otherwise I’d post the URL.

    I have a couple questions:

    1. I would like to add a copyright statement to the bottom of the footer but cannot find the functions.php file in order to edit. Where can I find this for the theme? I feel like it should not be as difficult as I am making it.

    2. Is it possible to add a second header? I would like to have one above the main navigation header that I can make into a sticky menu that just shows our company contact information upon scrolling.

Thanks in advance for your time!

The blog I need help with is: temprivetmgmt.wpcomstaging.com

Update: I have realized my first question is not possible unless I make a child theme/ use the code snippets plugin.

I just want to have an option to have a copyright statement where the site credit is at the bottom of the page. Is there a way that I can do this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I see you’re on the Business plan, so you can upload themes and plugins, which helps you to do that.

As you said (and you’re right), the only way to do that is using a child theme to modify the footer.php file. You need to do that in your child theme and leave the parent theme untouched. There’s no option for that, unfortunately.

Thanks for the response, but I did end up figuring it out.

For anyone with a similar issue, there’s a quicker workaround than creating a child theme and editing site files. With a lot of trial and error, I found out the “Insert Headers and Footers” plugin allows you to add the Copyright statement (or something else) into the footer via a script. This has solved my issue and looks like it will work for the header as well.
