Question for curious case of posting a post: delay of publication of 30-40 minut

  • When I publish a post, it is immediately published on the categories page (like this https://intellettualemoderno.com/category/letteratura-straniera/).

But the “square” of the post appears after 30-40 minutes … under the category bar of the home (here, https://preview.ibb.co/hzmm0V/ffffffffffff.png). So a very very long delay. It did not happen only with a post, but with “all” the posts

Why does it take all this time? I noticed that the weather varies, sometimes it takes 15-20 minutes, but most of the time 30 or 40 minutes. Is absurd!

While, as said before, immediately appears in https://intellettualemoderno.com/category/letteratura-straniera

Can I do something to speed up the display after posting? Is it a WordPress problem? Is it a problem of the theme?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • This is a WordPress problem. It sounds like a caching issue. I shall ping the wordpress.com team and get them to look into it.

  • It’s a serious problem: 30-40 minutes for a post publication is absurd. Initially I thought it was a problem of my pc, or a problem of server or internet line. Instead the problem occurred for “all” posts, so I got alarmed and worried.

QUESTION: Do you think that, even by making WordPress noise, they will solve the problem? Or usually when there are these problems … WordPress does not care about the reports?

  • I have also written to the Italian support of WordPress, but I do not know if they will help me to solve the problem. In the message I also wrote that I spoke with the development of the theme (quoting you and the link) and that you told me it’s a cache problem maybe, so that’s definitely a WordPress problem.

    Here it is: https://it.forums.wordpress.com/topic/grave-problema-di-wordpress-risoluzione-pubblicazione-post-dopo-40-min/

However, make your report to WordPress.com and make a lot of noise, because it is an absurd problem. I have marked the Italian support of WordPress, but I do not know if it depends on them … the resolution of the problem.

Do you think that, even by making WordPress noise, they will solve the problem? Or usually when there are these problems … WordPress does not care about the reports?

  • but perhaps in Italian support I have mistaken/wrong place. I wanted to contact wordpress, but I did not find anything.

  • I don’t know how seriously they will take it. I’ve seen people report similar issues in the past and I believe they get fixed – but I don’t remember how long it took.

If it helps you can contact support directly here: https://wordpress.com/help/contact

  • Ok thanks, I will write there too. Can I ask you if, please, can you make noise and write you also to WordPress?

The theme is yours :D , and then my English sucks, I’m translating with Google Translate and you understand little.

    Thanks, let me know :)

  • I have let wordpress.com know. Hopefully they will address this soon.

And using Google Translate seems to be working. There’s only a few words that haven’t translated but I think I have understood enough. The pictures help a lot.

  • I’m sorry, I did not understand. Did you write to WordPress.com? Do you confirm that you also reported the problem to Worpdress?

  • Do not understand your answer, because of the translator. Did you write to WordPress.com to solve the cache problem? I also wrote to WordPress.com, they replied that I have to delete the cache of my browser and the problem is solved. I have deleted the cache and all the data … of my browser and the problem is always there.

So I sent other messages to WordPress.com, that is, the problem must solve them. Can you write to WordPress.com too? So if you get messages from various people … maybe they really solve the problem and commit more.

Not not understood, because of the translator, if you wrote to WordPress.com? What did they answer you? Can you send another message to WordPress.com please? Thank you

  • I also wrote on help@wordpress.com

Given that my English sucks, can you write too? Thank you

  • I can’t do anything personally beyond showing them this thread – I don’t work for wordpress.com. The people I speak to are the theme team – who are likely all off for the weekend. Plus it’s thanksgiving weekend and a lot of them are American so probably taking a long weekend off.

Your English is good enough to get the point across.

I don’t think sending lots of emails will help. You’ve spoken to someone who suggested a fix (albeit a bad fix) so your best chance is to reply and say it doesn’t work. You can add a link to this forum thread as well and then they can see what I think.

  • Hi there, @gianlucarossi92!

I see that you’ve been emailing with WordPress.com support staff about this issue as recently as two days ago. I would follow the latest troubleshooting advice in the email, and continue to sort it out there.

    Thank you!

  • Hi @davidalankennedy
Thanks for answering me, you’re kind :)

They replied to emails. They were kind and they deleted the site cache (or so they said). The delay in publication has decreased, but the problem still persists. Yet I deleted all the cache of my browser (both Google Chrome and Firefox) and I updated them to the latest version.

Before it took 40 minutes to display a post on the Home, now it takes 15-20 minutes. I do not understand! THE BIGGEST PROBLEM is not in the sliders or in the five squares with the inscription “In Evidenza” (now or publish immediately, or it takes 5-10 minutes),

but the biggest problem is those small squares under the red horizontal bar of the categories (here: https://i.ibb.co/gjxN827/Schermata -of-2018-11-26-18-47-30.png)

    Then:
    1) Or Support WordPress.com has not deleted the cache
    2) Or Support WordPress.com has deleted the cache, but not all, only in some parts
    3) Or I do not know what to think. It is an absurd problem

  • @davidalankennedy the web site is: http://www.intellettualemoderno.com

The site was created about a month ago, that is when I subscribed to WordPress.com a month ago
