I have noticed this morning that if I try to refer to the setup and overview notes for Prosperity I am greeted with the following:

    This theme is retired
We invite you to try out a newer theme; start by browsing our WordPress theme directory.
    See all themes

What does this mean as far as using the Prosperity Theme? I had only started to use it and hadn’t even finished setting it up!

    Are there similar alternatives?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: wildramblings.com.au

    Hello,

WordPress.com team has decided to close its entire collection of premium themes. It means that new sites at WordPress.com are no longer able to use these premium themes.

However, sites on WordPress.com, that activated these premium themes before September 1, 2021, can still use them at WordPress.com.

Important to note that the Prosperity theme, and other our premium themes, have not been retired. They are still under an active development, and they can be purchased on our website.

The only change is that it’s no longer possible to purchase WordPress.com premium themes, or to use them as a part of the Premium or Business plan. This change affects all premium themes at WordPress.com.

You can check the current collection of WordPress.com themes for an alternative.

If you want to use the Prosperity theme on your WordPress.com site after September 1, 2021 then the theme has to be purchased from Themes Harbor. Also, you need to have a Business plan in order to be able to upload self-hosted themes (themes not from a WordPress.com collection).

If you have questions regarding this change in the premium themes at WordPress.com, feel free to contact a WordPress.com team directly.

If you have questions regarding a WordPress.com version of the Prosperity theme, feel free to use this forum, where I will be happy to help!

    Kind regards,
    Taras
