Projects and footers to look like demo?

  • Hi,

I’ve been playing around with this theme all day and am having trouble with projects gallery. I want to have different equally sized images with links to more detailed pages (like the React example). I have played with the images – making them different sizes and trying to line them up, then making it a gallery, then reverting back to resizing each image and linking it to a more detailed page. My question is if there is an easier way to create the project page so that it looks like it does in React.

My other question is how to make the recent projects appear on the homepage. I thought I clicked on that section under theme apperance but it’s not automatically updating.

And, how do I make the footers text like in the demo? Under the footers widget it seems there’s only options to put widgets there and not text…

Thanks, I hope all these questions make sense.

    Best,
    Elizabeth

  • Hey Elizabeth,

Your questions make perfect sense! And admittedly, setting up some of these pages isn’t the easiest thing in the world (our fault).

The “Projects” page template actually uses Posts to build out the thumbnails.

    Try this:

1.) Make sure your Projects page has the “Projects” template
2.) Create a new blog post, and select “gallery” as the Post Format
3.) Set a Featured Image for your blog Post
4.) Publish the post, and check out your Projects page – you should now see the thumbnail appearing there!

Once you do that, you should probably also see the “Recent Projects” footer on your site.

For the footer text – you can actually do this by adding a “Text Widget” to your footer, and you can insert any text you want into this Widget.

Let me know if that all makes sense!
