Problems with "the four" theme and Elementer in WooCommerce
We use The Four Theme for our webshop. Its great, but I have a major issue/problem when editing (with elementor) the “template” for the product page in our webshop. The issue is with the “product data tab”. I can easily set up the product page, however, when It goes live (published) and you click into a single product and scroll down to the description of the product (in the product tab part of the page) then the images and cost of our products is automatically repeated in that part of the page. Basically, this means that images and cost is being duplicated. This is a bug, but I do not know how to fix it.
When I change Theme of our page, the issue disappears, and the product tab part of the product page only show the description of the products that we have added to each product as it should (not duplicating images and cost as it does with the Four theme).
Can you please help me? When you go into my homepage now, you will not see the issue because I am not using the “product data tab”. This is a major problem for us, as a lot of information we have added under different tabs is not currently available on our webshop.
Thanks a lot,

Are you using Elementor Pro to edit the product page? Can you share a screenshot with us?
Thank you for your mail.
Yes, I am using Elementer pro. Please see attached files. As the product page is much larger than my screen, I had to divide the screenshot into 3 images in order to see the problem. You can see the issue in the images named “problem when live” 1, 2 and 3.
As you can see, the product images and price is shown in the description (“beskrivelse”) part of the product tab (duplicate content). This is a bug. When I shift to other themes the issue disappears, and the product tab only show the text description as it should.
A strange thing, however, is that the problem only shows when the product page is live. So, when I edit the product page description with elementor is looks perfectly right. See image “when editing it looks fine”.
Can you help me fix this?
Can you see the problem? I just looked at my screenshots above, and it may be a little difficult to see the problem because they are divided in three images.
Do you need me to make a new screen shot on a bigger screen? In that way you can easily see the problem.
I don’t see the problem. You probably missed the “2” image. All I see is the “1” and “3” and can’t see the price in the product description.
Ok. Please see the new screen shots.
This picture shown the problem. When the product page is live, the picture and price is automatically shown in the product tab:
A strange thing is that is actually looks fine when I edit the page. See picture:
As wrote before, the issue disappears when I change theme.
Can you help me with the problem?
Thanks a lot.
I understand the problem. Please give me some time to check and fix it.
I’ve tried to replicate the issue, but couldn’t. Can you please describe the steps you did to have that error?
Well, I just create a template product page using Elementer Pro. In that product page, I pace product figure, product price and product tab etc. (as shown in the previous screenshots).
Then I create my products in Woocommerce. For the product description for each product, I press “edit with elementor” (see attached screenshot) to use elementor to create product-descriptions:
When I edit, it looks fine as I wrote before. However, when I publish the paper (goes live) then the issue appears. There must be some kind of issue with elementor and the four theme regarding the product tab, because when I change theme, the issue disappears and the product tab only shows the product description (as it should).
Thank you for your help.
Please try adding this line to the theme’s “functions.php” file (as you’re on Business plan, you can edit the theme):
add_theme_support( 'woocommerce' );
In our test, it will make the theme work with Elementor + WooCommerce.
Can you briefly tell me how to do this? I am not familiar with editing the “functions.php” file.
Could you briefly tell me how to add the sentence to the “functions.php” file? I am not familiar with editing the “functions.php” file.
Thank you very much,
I’m not sure if you can modify the theme file directly on wordpress.com. However, as you’re on the business plan, you’re able to upload themes here.
Can you send me an email to (email visible only to moderators and staff)? I’ll send you an updated version of the theme with the modification for “functions.php” file. Then you can just upload the theme to wordpress.com, replacing the old theme.
