Problem with how theme displays on iPad

    When I activate my blog on my 9.7″ iPad, which is running the latest OS, the Tweet information in the top of the right sidebar is not displaying properly. It is too wide, extending far past the theme’s right edge. However, it displays fine on my Mac.

    I have screenshots, but I don’t see how I can include them in this post.

    Hi Howard. Thanks for the message and sorry you’re having problems.

    I’m afraid I don’t have an ipad so can’t test the problem myself. I’ve used an emulator and it appeared to work, so the screenshots would help.

    Thanks for the images. That boths helps and doesn’t help. I have no idea how to reproduce that but it’s definitely a problem.

    I will have to do some research and see if I can work out why it’s happening.

    I’ve now managed to reproduce the error on an ipad air. It seems to only be the twitter widget that’s the problem, for some unusual reason the font size grows when you’re on a tablet.

    Are you able to try a different theme and see if the same problem happens there? Ideally something like TwentySeventeen.

    In the Twenty Seventeen theme, on my iPad, I get the same problem.

    Hmm – that suggests it’s a problem with Twitter, or WordPress.com then.

    It’s very strange. I have had a further look and still can’t work out exactly what’s causing it.

    I shall ask the wordpress.com team to have a look at this and see if they’ve encountered it before.

    I don’t have a timeline on a fix. So far, we haven’t been able to reproduce the issue on another site.
