I have created five different categories in the top header bar and catergoried posts into these ‘sub headings’ however I want them posts to come up in a list underneath when the mouse hovers over each category so people can choose to read a particular post – It is shown possible on the preview of Linen when they hover over ‘food’ – Can someone tell me how to do this? Thanks

    Hey there,

I’m not quite sure what you’re referring to on the Linen demo, but if you want to create sub-menu items for each of your posts you’ll need to manually set up your menu on the Appearance → Menus screen on your admin panel.

You’ll need to add each post as a sub-menu under the Category it belongs to – there is no way to automatically have it appear there. Here is a great tutorial on WordPress menus (see “Creating a Custom Menu”) for a guide on setting up your own menus.

I hope I’m understanding what you’re trying to do – let me know how it goes!

Do you mean you want a page pull of excerpts?
If you want posts to be listed on the page as a series of excerpts (with ‘read more’ buttons) you edit each post. You can either go into the text of the post and add the ‘more’ divider (on the visual editor you see buttons, bold, italic, etc — ‘more’ is the twelfth button) — or you can write the post and then copy/paste a small amount into the excerpt box beneath the main post box. Either way, update the post and you’ll see it appear as a title & summary excerpt with the read more button.
