Post Slider doesn't work in Tortuga

I cannot get the post slider to work in Tortuga. I have added “featured” to the “Customizer” – Featured Content. And added “featured” to the tag in the post. In the post I have selected a tag “featured” + featured photo + excerpt + added text to blocks in the post. I can update successfully doing these steps. But when I try to change the Post Attributes in the Blog Post to Setup “Post Slider” (or even to “Full-width”) from “Default” I get an “Update error” with a red bar when I try to “UPDATE” – and sometimes it locks my screen and I have to delete the task and restart Firefox. The Tortuga Setup and Info information states that I should be able to add Posts to the Featured Content Slider – can I also add PAGES to the slider – because there is a drop down box for Page Slider for PAGES. Does the slider only appear on the front/home page and NO other pages? (If it can appear on other PAGES…how?) How do I control the number of posts that I can have in the slider? There is no Theme option in Tortuga to do this…?
    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is healourlandnow.com.

    Hi there,

Thanks so much for using Tortuga.

The Post Slider will only show your posts. You can control the number of posts by the number of tagged posts, but there is a limit of 12 posts which are the maximum.

The slider is automatically displayed above your latest posts (blog homepage), once you have set up a tag and assigned the featured tag to some of your posts.

If you edit a static page, you can also select the template “Post Slider” for your static page. Then this page will also display the slider.

    Best,
    Thomas

Thanks for your quick response! I was wondering – should the options to change from “Default Template” to “Post Slider” or “Full-width Page” be removed from the Post Attributes section at Setup for Blog Posts. I still get the red bar – “Update error” if I try to change from “Default Template” to either “Post Slider” or “Full-width Page” and then try to update. Thanks!

    Hi again,

    Sorry for my late response.

I have checked this and I’m not sure why this happens. I’m not able to select templates for posts, only for pages.

Page Templates are handled by the WordPress.com platform, not the theme, so not sure why there are errors, sorry.

    Best,
    Thomas
