    Hello,

    In the demo, the featured photo for a post shows up as a neat rectangle, that allows you to see the title of the post without scrolling down. I’ve tried to figure out how to do this with no luck. All of my featured photos are coming up as larger squares in the post, that require you to scroll down in order to see the title. Do you have a CSS code to make them all uniformly rectangles like in the demo?

    It is for the site EarthtoJay.com

    Thank you.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I’d also like to know if it’s an option to have numbers instead of just an “older post” button at the bottom of the page. Like instead of just hitting older posts a bunt of times I’d like my readers to hit next page, or number 4, and so on.

    Hi,

    Looking at your website at the moment it looks like the images are fine, they are rectangles. Did you manage to sort out the issue or perhaps I misunderstood what’s going on?

    As for the pagination, yes, by default the theme has number pagination. The Jetpack Infinite Scroll is currently enabled on your website. Go to Jetpack > Settings > Writing. You will see a section called “Theme Enhancements” and in it the “Infinite Scroll” options. Set that to “Load more posts using the default theme behavior”.

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    The photos are rectangles on the front page but when you go into a specific blog post, the featured photo is larger than in the demo and more squarish. Like this post for example https://earthtojay.com/2019/08/14/5-free-things-to-do-in-portland/
    When you get to that post the featured photo at the top is so large that you have to scroll down to see the title, but in the demo the featured photo on the actual post is a rectangle that isn’t as tall.

    And I fixed it to the not infinite scroll option for the second part of my previous question. Thank you again!

    Hi,

    The theme does not do any cropping on the single blog post page, it maintains the original aspect ratio of the image, so no part of it gets removed.

    You can use some CSS code ( goes in the custom CSS section of the Customizer ) to do the cropping:

    .blog-post-single-thumb img {
        max-height: 400px;
        object-fit: cover;
    }

    You can tweak the max-height value to be lower or higher than 400px.
