Portfolio pages sorted by project type

I currently use the Suidobashi template for wordpress.com, and would like to set up my website as a portfolio to display my creative projects, separated by project type.

I have set up portfolio “Project Types” in the categories of Art, Writing, and Curatorial, and have started adding portfolio entries categorized under these project types.

I then made empty Pages titled with my different types of work (Art, Writing and Curatorial) and attempted to enter the portfolio shortcode in to embed portfolio entries under that project type:

    For example:

    [portfolio display_type=true display_tags=true include_type=art include_tag=true columns=3 showposts=15]

When the empty page type is set to Portfolio, all of my portfolio entries appear there (not only the types specified in the shortcode as I would like), and when I set the empty page type to Default, all I get is the message “Your Portfolio Archive currently has no entries. You can start creating them on your dashboard.”

I have checked the slugs for my Project Types, and everything seems to be as it should be, so I’m not sure why this isn’t working.

Can anyone help me with this? My website is strangerumbles.wordpress.com.

    Would appreciate any assistance, thanks!

    Hi Jacquelyn,

to set the portfolio projects to your Front Page in Suidobashi, you don’t need to use the shortcode. Instead you would need to create a new, empty page and set the Page Attribute / Template “Portfolio Page” to it.

Then you can select this page as your Static Front page under Appearance / Customize / Static Front Page.

    Best, Ellen
