Portfolio Page Grid

I am unable to achieve the “grid” appearance on the static portfolio page and have read numerous support threads and read and reread all the instructions so I am not sure what I am missing.

I am able to add an image (in both the media/ text area & the featured image spot) in the “add new” line under the portfolio sidebar. No matter how I size the images, etc. they do not appear as a grid — they appear one on top of another and in large size.

What steps might I be missing or doing incorrectly to achieve the collage appearance?

    Hi there,

you actually did not do anything wrong. It’s just that your uploaded Featured images are so big, that they don’t have the space in the browser to float next to each other.

In order to get the grid images, you would need to have smaller Featured images. You can crop your already uploaded images to a smaller size directly in your WordPress admin area (see details here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-editing/).

Then you would need to upload your cropped Featured image again in the portfolio project.

I hope my answer is helpful!
    Best, Ellen
