portfolio is not a drop down option

I am trying to make my portfolio page my static home page, but when i go customise->static front page, “portfolio” isn’t an option under the drop down menu.

Hi there,
did you create your new page “Portfolio” already. You would need to create a new, empty page first and choose the Page Template “Portfolio” for it.
If you already did this and it still is not working, please let me know again so that I can help you further.
