Hi, if you take a look at my Opticos site I just started to build up, I have added two pics in the slideshow at the page About us. The problem is on my 13″ laptop both pictures look fine, but on my bigger display (27″?) one of the pictures (the one with the railways) doesn´t act responsive – it´s cutted in both sides, even the text is cutted. Why?
The blog I need help with is opticos1234.wordpress.com.
The slider is responsive. The background intelligently changes size as you move to a smaller screen. If the image simply scaled down, especially with shorter landscape images similar to what you have on your site, the text above the slide would overflow the slide. In an attempt to avoid this situation, the slide height is fit to the height of the screen and the image is scaled appropriately. Unfortunately, this can lead to a “cropped” effect, but it avoids the more serious concern of overflowing text.
Thanks for your answers… I made the photo with low hight and long width as a try to reach the customers vision to be able to see the top rectangle and the smaller boxes displyed at the same time – without scrolling… Just to understand: can´t I change the hight of the picture at all? That would be good to know – then I don´t need to use a half day to try out myself. :)
Oh, I really wish some of you developers soon would make one complete, funky BUSINESS theme with ALL thinkable features, combinations, possibilities… very much is focused on blogs on WordPress.com, not so many static business sites…
I´m really sad for that.
So, I cross my fingers for the update of Basis you mentioned.
Until then, my best regards,
Unfortunately, there is not a way to add a custom height for the slideshow at this time.
We hope to be releasing a more customizable theme in the near future.
