NO PICTURES IN POSTS

I purchased HEADLINES this morning. None of my pictures show up in the little clipped boxes though, like the promo picture to sell this theme shows.
You have to click to the main article to see any pictures–this leaves my pages verrrrry boring looking. I thoroughly surfed the options for pictures within the theme category, and I see nowhere where I specify I want thumbnails to show up with the excerpts–only a place where I say show attached images in main article.
Can you please help?

Are you setting any of your images as featured images?
