"New" Customizer: changing background colour

    Hi,

I have had the Full Frame quite a while (I think since its’ launch…) and had been switching up the background colour on and off many times via the WP Admin before the “new Customizer” was introduced.

If I want to change the background colour now (f.i. to a neutral grey as #a0a0a0), I get directed to the “new Customizer” where changing colours and backgrounds are now part of a premium feature. I am not even able to have the theme activate its’ default background colour…

There has been no changelog or information on this change on the theme’s info-pages, just a sudden loss of an option that used to be included in the initial purchase.
Are background colours now a premium feature or is this an unintentional change?

    Regards,
    Nicola Isabelle

Looks like you have the Custom Design preview active, so you can preview certain design tweaks but not save them. To exit preview mode, go into the Customizer’s Colors & Backgrounds tab and click “exit the preview.”

    TL;DR See the bolded questions..

To clarify, my question is in the third paragraph of my forum post, and for the theme maker’s sake, I will once again write my main question and a related question pertaining the theme’s default feature down.

“Are background colours a premium feature now?”
    Mind you, this option was

      not

    a premium feature before.
“Why can’t I set the background colour back to the theme’s default colour?”
This should be possible regardless whether it is a premium or basic feature in the theme.

Thank you, Kathryn, for responding. Your response however, is

      not

an answer to my question. Of course I see what you showed in your screenshot, and of course I understand that it is a preview that won’t go active unless I own the Custom Design. It says so in text after all…
My point is that this feature was

      not

a part of Custom Design before!

I am not at all a fan of the customiser with built-in preview as I feel that, especially for the Full Frame theme, the WP Admin-Dashboard options gives and gave more options that I won’t go into because I would rather have my forum post remain on topic and my questions answered.

Something went terribly wrong with the formatting in the previous post!
    New try without any markup…

“Are background colours a premium feature now?”

No, it is not a premium feature.

As soon you exit the trial mode you’ll be able to change the background colour and upload a background image, no upgrade is needed. Apologies that this wasn’t clear.
