  • Hello,

Yes. Theme Supports Custom Menus so you can place Pages, Categories or Custom Links to the menu easily. Following article will be helpful to you to understand the Custom Menus,

    Menus

    Thanks

  • I was able to follow some of those instructions, but let me clarify further – I already have some static pages in my site (for example “gardening” if you take a look at it) I want to change it so the gardening “page” displays the blogs from the category “gardening”. I tried messing around with it a little by making menus and at one point whatever I did wiped out all my static pages and my home blog page (nothing was left but a gardening page), and now I’m a bit gun shy about doing things trial and error because I don’t want to loose and recreate what I have already done. I’m not even sure what I did to get it all back to normal but I somehow figured it out. I plan on deleting the static info. under the gardening “page” as part of this process. Is there anything a bit more specific you can tell me to help me? I

  • Hello,

I plan on deleting the static info. under the gardening “page” as part of this process.

First of all, you have no need to delete or modify any static info in any page of your blog. In this way, your data is safe, and you don’t need to worry about this.

I already have some static pages in my site (for example “gardening” if you take a look at it)

I have observed that you have two destinations with Gardening label.

One is your static page i.e. http://tobrookewithlove.wordpress.com/the-yard/

Second is your category i.e. http://tobrookewithlove.wordpress.com/category/gardening/

I want to change it so the gardening “page” displays the blogs from the category “gardening”.

Now, it is time to play with Custom Menus concept. First of all, don’t worry you are not doing anything wrong as this is much powerful feature of WordPress and you can manage any links, categories or pages here (Not Content).

    – Simply Create Menu and name it as you like e.g. Primary Menu via Appearance > Menus
    – Add Gardening Category to this Menu
    – You may also add your Gardening page here as well. Add your Gardening Pager to this Menu if you wish.
    – So on….

Assign this menu to Primary Menu Location via Mange Locations.

Now your menu is active and you may add or delete items to this menu.

I’m not even sure what I did to get it all back to normal but I somehow figured it out.

Let you want to reset. Simply Free the Primary Menu Location and it will start displaying your Static Pages menu by default.

Is there anything a bit more specific you can tell me to help me?

Practice makes you perfect. Simply play with the custom menus, your data is safe. (Again, don’t edit or delete any data in your static pages, as this is not part of Custom Menu logic).

    Thanks

  • I’ve got it! Thank you!
