I’ve decided to make the switch to WordPress.org but I’ve heard this can’t be done whilst I have this theme?
Is this the case or can this be done? Thanks!

Yes, themes from wordpress.com cannot be transfered to wordpress.org selfhosted websites.
However, we also offer a slightly different version of Dynamic News for wp.org websites. You can download the theme on https://wordpress.org/themes/dynamic-news-lite/ for free. The wp.org version has not as much features as the wp.com version, but we sell an add-on plugin for the theme to unlock premium features in case you need them.
