Menu Automatically Includes Categories

  • Hi There,
I have adjusted all of my menu options in every way I can think of and the traditional menu, just below the featured content carousel, is made of links to my categories. I have tried deleting Menu 1 and recreating it, and also have ensured my Primary Menu only includes Home, About, and Contact.

Where else can I customize this menu? It’s making me crazy. Thanks for your help!

  • Hello,

If I understand correctly, you wish to customize category filter under the featured content?

    Thank you,

  • Yes, After looking at the demo site a few more times, I figured out that this is just the way it is. I’ll adjust accordingly. Thanks!

  • Hello,

Category filter under the featured slider is populated automatically with post categories.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to hide specific categories from filter, and to exclude them from the query.

    Thank you,
    – Djordje

  • Is there a way to hide sub-categories? I’m noticing that they show up as well, even though I have marked them as NOT being top level. It seems the best way to deal with this is to convert sub categories into tags. Thanks for any help.

  • Hello,

Well, Tags should be used for different purpose – marking similar content. But if you are not using tags on your site for that, you can use them instead of creating subcategories.

    Thank you,
    – Djordje
