Media photo over date

I have tried to remove the photo which sits over the date in my post but I just can’t manage. If I delete the photo from the library it just put a different one there. Help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
If you go back and edit the post, click the “Add Images” button. Then choose from the drop down “uploaded to this post”.
You can drag the images there in a different order. The first one is line will be shown over the post.
What I mean is that I want the photo at the top of my post but I don;t want the thumbnail photo that then covers the date of the post. When I remove the photo, the next image which is my “heart” ratings then appear over the date. I want the date to be there on its own.
There’s a setting under Appearance -> Theme setting to turn off the image over the post. Ideally, if you do want them, the images should be quite large to begin with.
