    Hi there,

Is there a way to add a LinkedIn company page icon or feed in our footer? I currently have the “Facebook Page Plugin” and “Twitter Timeline” widgets installed, but I do not see any options for a LinkedIn company page (only for personal LinkedIn pages).

I’d like to have something consistent across all social platforms in our footer, so if there’s something else I can do that is fine. Simply looking for consistency. Thanks!

    Hi Maggie,

Your site’s private so I can’t see anything. When it’s public let me know and I’ll tell you what options you have in that footer area.

    Cheers,
    Philip

    Hi Maggie,

Thanks. I guess you mean in the footer. I do not believe that there’s a dedicated LinkedIn widget on WordPress.com. The best you could do in this case is use a Text/HTML widget and add in a link to your personal/company page on LinkedIn. Thanks for opening the page for me to see what you were talking about.

    Cheers,
    Philip

    Phiip,
I attempted to use a text/html widget to add a LinkedIn company page badge (I got the code directly from the LinkedIn developer page).

For some reason it shortens the link and does not convert to the badge like it is supposed to. Any ideas?

It seems that most generic social icons work for personal pages, which have a url of linkedin.com/in/yournamehere, however company pages have a url of linkedin.com/company/companynamehere. I wish WP would come up with a solution for this! Thanks for your help :)

    Maggie,

Embedded code will not work if it includes any JavaScript. Can you share with me the code you’re trying to embed? Only self-hosted sites can embed code with JavaScript. WordPress.com has restrictions so I’d like to see the code to be sure.

    Cheers,
    Philip

It is Javascript… that would be why! Darn… any other ideas? I know you had said once you may be able to give me a custom code for this?

My thinking was that I could give you a simple link with CSS that links out to the page, nothing like an interactive feed. I can post that in my morning. It’s 11 PM here so I’ll be back in around 9 hours.

That’s perfectly fine. I would appreciate anything you could give me. Like I said, as long as I can get consistent icons across the board I will be happy :)

    Hi Maggie,

Take a look at the demo site, at the very bottom under the section that says “Social Icons”. You could use those to link out to LinkedIn. The exact code in your widget would look like this: https://cloudup.com/cqWoVlk61DB (see this).

So, what you could do is have a widget titled Follow Us or Social Links or whatever you want, and then use the template that I’ve posted above to link out to Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Let me know how that works out for you.

    Cheers,
    Philip
