    Are there any recommendations on how to tackle the “LCP issue: longer than 2.5s (mobile)” in Google Core Web Vitals within the theme?

    The blog I need help with is: aldia.microjuris.com

    Hello,

    One of the improvements that can be done is to minify the main theme styles.

    However, I am a little bit surprised that these styles are not minified on your site. WordPress.com should minify these styles automatically.

    This is the reason why a WordPress.com version of the theme does not load minified styles (due to the theme requirements, theme authors are not allowed to use minified styles because the style minification is done by WordPress.com).

    Also, I’ve just checked several other WordPress.com sites with a Business plan and active Aquene, and the styles are minified.

    You can try to minify the styles using a WordPress plugin.

    Another thing that I have noticed that you are using Open Sans as your default font for the site.

    The thing is that WordPress.com does not disable a default font of the theme (Lato) when a custom font is used (I hope there will be a solution to this issue soon).

    However, you can use this code snippet to disable a default font on your site:

     function themesharbor_dequeue_default_font(){
      wp_dequeue_style('aquene-google-fonts');
      wp_deregister_style('aquene-google-fonts');
    }
    add_action( 'wp_print_styles', 'themesharbor_dequeue_default_font' );

    For custom code snippets, you can use this free plugin (here is a screenshot of the code snippet: https://snipboard.io/BeVgHR.jpg).

    Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Kind regards,
    Taras
