Layout option missing for individual posts in DailyMag theme

My site is http://bikenewengland.com. I would like to make a few pages full-width one column wide, but the layout option for Pages and Posts does not appear in the editing menu. The Upthemes page for DailyMag has an illustration of a layout box, but I do not see it on my site. Is there a way to enable it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

I believe you are referring to the “Layout” meta box in the edit screen. If you open a page to edit, on the right side, scroll down until you see the “Layout” box. It will have a series of radio buttons to select the layout you wish to choose. If you don’t see this, it might be disabled from the “Screen options” tab at the top of your screen.

    Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I can’t see screen options in the “new improved”

      WordPress.com

editor but I can in the traditional editor. Checking the 1 or 2 column layout buttons just removes the right editing column and has no effect on the page or post I update. On most other themes I can see a “page template” choice in the right column while editing, but not on DailyMag. The only way I can do it would be to change the global format, but I want full-width on just one or two pages. When editing posts (not pages) I have a “post format” option but it does not include full page, only standard, aside, link, image etc. I tried editing in Chrome, Firefox and Explorer but none of them provide the full page option for individual posts or pages. Is there some CSS I could try>

I’m not sure why that field would not display. It works on the standalone version (off WordPress.com) that we sell. I suppose they’ve changed something in the system that now causes this feature to be unavailable.

The fix wouldn’t be a CSS change. It’s a template structure that needs to be altered.

how are you marking this resolved when there is no resolution for WP hosted users? I need this fixed or the template is of much less value.

I have not found a resolution for this issue other than living without the full-width option.

There is no other option for selecting when a conversation is completed. If the topic is not marked “resolved” the WordPress.com moderators will assume that the conversation is still open. The only alternative is to close the topic and I think that’s the least desirable action as it shuts down conversation.
